Jewellery historian and journalist Vivienne Becker’s latest collaboration with lifestyle publisher Assouline pays homage to Fawaz Gruosi. The celebrated craftsman helming the Geneva-based de Grisogono is hailed for his nonconformist approach, and for a handsome portfolio of luxury watches and high jewellery pieces loved by everyone from Begum Salima Aga Khan and Duchess Camilla of Cornwall to screen sirens Sophia Loren and Sharon Stone.
“I imagine in colours. I design in light,” says Gruosi of his work.
The images in this luxury volume showcase opulent examples of Florentine and Byzantine influences, striking gemstone combinations, and unsurpassed handcraftsmanship.
Compendium of AP’s 550 complicated 20th century timepieces took four years to research and write.
